GET was involved on project to produce bankable documentation for Gas Processing Plant using licensed processes . The Plant was designed for the capacity of 250,000 MTA. This is one of the biggest gas processing plants that will be built. The client is looking to a possible second stream and doubling the capacity. It has the largest storage area allocated to store Product(Propylene ) and Feed ( Propane ) for 2 weeks to create buffer in the production. There is also storage facilities for the Plant’s by-product ( Butane ). Should a buyer for Butane arise, this could possibly fund a large portion of this Plant.
We were provided with basic P.&I.D.’s and P.F.D.’s for the 2 licensed processes, which we had to verify and complete. We had to provide the services and inter-connecting Design to complete this entire process. This also includes all the Plant and Process waste services. Some basic 2D drawings were also provided with the licensed process, for the design backing. This small entity took this documentation and did the entire plant design as you now see it. It took us basically 6 months to complete, from receiving the “preliminary” documentation , to the production of the complete bankable document which includes 6,500 piping isometric drawings with over 3000 pipelines, a full set of mechanical design guide drawings for every single vessel on the plant, complete structural and civil layouts and design, followed by full mechanical and piping layouts. Included in this work package is also a full Bulk Earthworks, Roads and Storm water Design.
Our main task was to produce a cost estimate in approximation of 10 %. We have achieved far more than that. Once a stress analyses model is produced and the necessary adjustments are made, this plant is drawn and fully designed. The parties involved in this Project are based all over the world, working through our FTP website. This in itself is a major feat.
The project has been driven by a 3D model done in AutoCadand Presented in Navisworks. We have decided to use CadworksProfessional as an application that will help us produce the entire plant equipment and piping. We have then managed to meet with “impossible” dead-lines given to us by the client, including all the design variations created by licensor’s and client’s process requirement on process hand over meetings. We have managed to come out with more than 10,000 documents providing accurate and actual design information and full M.T.O.’s in order to create real estimate of the plant costs.
